Several Updates and Hot fix (Friday, 10 August 2007 )

We've been listening closely to your suggestions in order to improve ThinkFree Premium.

Here's some of the latest improvements:

Auto sync
No more worrying about keeping your files in sync.  File synchronization can now be set
to automatically synchronize your files at specified time intervals.

Background file sync
No more interruptions while you work on your document.  File synchronization works in
the background now unless you start a manual file sync by clicking the Sync button.


Share and publish context menu
Collaboration features are at your fingertips now.  The new share and "send the file link" (publish) context menu is available when you right-click on any file.



File Recovery
You needn't fear computer crashes while you edit a document.   In the event of a crash, a temp file will be saved for recovery upon restart.

Also added:

Automatic sign in
For your convenience, you can now have ThinkFree Premium sign in automatically when you launch the application.

Here are some features we've added:

Online and Offline Access
Connection down? Don't worry. ThinkFree Premium provides online and offline access to your
files and office applications. Show your sales presentation to the captive audience in the seat
next to you on the plane, update the sales numbers, and when you re-connect, get all of the
collaboration and version management features of ThinkFree Online.



File Synchronization
No need to manage uploading the latest changes you made when you were offline.  File Sync handles it for you and updates the latest file information.

Background Save
One of our most frequently requested features is here!  With our new SmartSave feature, you won't have to wait when you save files to your online storage (at ThinkFree Online).  Save as often as you want now that file saves (uploads) are handled automatically in the background.  You can continue doing what's important --- writing and creating.

Full Screen Editor
Ever close your browser by accident after editing a document?  Never again.  With the Premium editor, you'll get a full-sized editor with the same familiar interface you are used to in Microsoft Office.  No more confusion over which buttons belong to your browser or your editor.

Back up all your files
Archiving all your files shouldn't be a chore.  You can easily back up and download all your ThinkFree Online files and folders as one zipped file.

Convenient Access to ThinkFree Online
Saving and loading files located online has never been easier.  You can now load and save ThinkFree Online files from directly within your Premium editor.




Faster, larger files
Now it is possible to load and edit those impossibly large spreadsheets and incredibly long word documents.  The smooth-scrolling editor will remove any frustrations so you can concentrate on the task at hand.  Note that if you decide to save your file to ThinkFree Online, your individual file size must be less than 10 MB at this time.

Drag & drop file adding
Now you can easily add files (and folders) to your online storage by dragging and dropping your local file into a ThinkFree File Manager folder.  Of course you can also use the "Add files button" located at the top menu bar.
 
High Priority Tech Support
If you ever run into trouble, just send us an email and we will do everything we can to resolve your problem as soon as possible.

• Share the file with other collaborators - You can designate collaborators as co-authors (edit permission) or readers (view only). Collaborators will need to sign in to view or edit the document.

• Send the file link to clients and friends - This feature allows you to share the file with anyone including non-ThinkFree Online members. Recipients will be able to view, download or forward the document.

• Post to blog - Popular blogging services such as Blogger, TypePad, WordPress and Squarespace are supported.

• Post to ThinkFree Docs - You can share your documents with the everyone at ThinkFree Docs.

The file sharing function has changed.

• Changed control over collaboration participation. Collaborators can stop participating in document collaboration by removing themselves. In the previous ThinkFree Online version, collaborators were not able to control their participation. Only the file owner was able to remove collaborators.

• Increased 'file sharing function' accessibility. You can add, remove or change the file sharing status in several locations:

  1. Using the File List Page > Actions Menu > Share menu.
  2. Using the File Details Page > Actions Menu > Share menu.
  3. Using the File Details Page > Add collaborators link.

• Added comment alert feature. When collaborators post comments, they are able to send an email alert to other collaborators.

• Encrypted file share URL. For your convenience, the file link is automatically encrypted to increase security.

A file can be shared publicly.

• A file can be 'public' (). If you make a file 'public', the file can be viewed by anyone that receives the encrypted file link. Toggling the 'Allow anyone to view' button on File Details Page will turn the 'public' status on and off. The generated file link can then be sent to anyone (including non-ThinkFree Online members) you want to share your document with.

 

• There are now four possible file status options:

shared	available to you and your collaborators (other ThinkFree Online members)
shared	available to you, your collaborators and anyone else you send the file link to

Doc Exchange is now ThinkFree Docs.

• Added 'Post to ThinkFree Docs' feature. 'Publish to Doc Exchange' is replaced with 'Post to ThinkFree Docs' feature. This feature allows you to make the latest version of your document publicly available on Docs.

• Added ThinkFree Docs search feature. In addition to searching your ThinkFree Online account, you can now search for documents, spreadsheets and presentations on ThinkFree Docs.

• Added single sign-on feature. If you sign-up for an account on ThinkFree Online or ThinkFree Docs, you will have access to both services using that one account. Note: Users are now required to validate their email address before access to ThinkFree Online or ThinkFree Docs is granted.

Other changes.

• Removed bulletin board and blacklist features. These features are no longer available in ThinkFree Online.
